New Quay in Wales is a very pretty little town just on the coast of Cardiganshire. A lot of people think of the New Quay in Cornwall when you mention the name and think of the surfing. But the Welsh town is even better in my eyes! It is a small town built around the fishing industry. It is built on the side of the hill right on the coast overlooking Cardigan bay. It is a great spot for wildlife you can see seals and dolphins off the coast on perhaps a red kite soaring above. There are some lovely restaurants and pubs and you may even catch a karaoke session or quiz there! Many years ago New Quay was a fishing & smuggling port. Later a bustling shipbuilding industry developed. In more recent times fishing still plays a major role but tourism is now a big business too.

After a camping trip on a campsite in Port Eynon I went for an early morning walk. It was very early and most other people were still asleep after the heat of the sun on the day before. The air was thick with dew as I strolled through the village, onto the dunes and eventually down onto the beach. There was a sole runner nearby but nothing else moved.

Llyn yr Fan Fawr is a lake in the Brecon Beacons. It is set quite high up on the hillside underneath the mountain of Fan Brecheiniog which was incidentally the first Mountain I ever climbed! It's not advisable to swim in the lake for a number of reasons... Firstly it's full of pond weed so you could get tangled up. Secondly it's freezing cold up there and lastly it's got a good variety of leeches swimming about ready to suck your blood. So just don't do it! The river coming out of it however is fine for a quick dip.

Flooding in Llansamlet
I passed by this large area of flooding in Llansamlet and stopped off to take a few snaps with my phone. Not sure what caused it maybe a blocked drain or something?
