What's this all about then?
My Wales is an open site where you can tell everybody about your experiences or upcoming events. The possibilities are endless.
If you fancy sharing a story, tell us about it. If you want to advertise your gig or dj session that's fine too. Share your photos of your area or favourite Welsh place. As long as the thing you are writing about is to do with Wales it's fine.
How do I add content to the site?
Create an account underneath the login form to the right hand side. You will need to verify your email account first and after that you are free to add articles to the site. When you submit an article it is referred to the administrator for approval. Spam articles will not be tolerated and may lead to your account being banned. You can add an article on any subject which is Wales related.
Images: Underneath the article content is a button which says "JFUploader". Use this to upload your picture into your own personal folder. You then click the picture which you uploaded and press "insert Image". It will then appear in your article. The size limit is 1mb and the ideal resolution is 800x600. if you can resize your picture to 800x600 or thereabouts, you shouldn't have a problem with the size limit. You can also upload them from the main screen for use in an article later on.
By uploading an image you confirm that you own the copyright to it and you are allowing the use of it anywhere on http://mywales.info
Video: Video can be embedded within your article from youtube, google, ustream, revver, myspace, vimeo, mbreak and mpora. To embed a video in an article simply add a hyperlink to the video (chain symbol) in the position you want it in your article. The video will magically appear when the article is published.
Can I advertise?
You can advertise upcoming events, days out or nights out that you recommend. A link is fine as long as it is to do with the article and related to Wales. Even a link to your own Welsh website is fine but you must add a reasonable amount of content as well.
What articles are not allowed?
Articles submitted with profanities, violence, illegal activities or of a sexual nature will not be approved. The article must be related to Wales in some way. Links to other websites are allowed but unnecessary amounts or unrelated links in an article will not be approved. Large amounts of links in an article such as a list are not allowed and may get your account revoked.
Why do I have to wait for approval?
When you first sign up you become an author. This means you are allowed to submit articles but they need to be approved by an administrator before appearing online. They usually only take a day or so to appear online. If you are a regular, trustworthy contributor you may be invited to become a VIP and be able to skip the approval process.
